Are you in need of a function room or a room for a party?  We have four rooms of various sizes suitable for all kinds of events, for example, children's parties, meetings, quizzes, fund raising events, sewing groups, keep fit classes to name just a few.  All our rooms have free Wi Fi and there is free parking on site.   Please have a look at the rooms below and for further information click on the booking form for hire costs and for further details about making a booking or enquiry.‚Äč

1. Peter Larkin Hall  (size: 16 x 8m approx) - ground floor

This room, or hall has a wooden floor, is large and well lit, with plenty of natural light and is used for exercise classes, and by community groups for dancing, singing, large meetings, Christmas fayres, WI meetings, choir rehearsals, Art History lectures, keep fit classes, ballet lessons and more.  There is a large, separate kitchen with a cooker, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, hot water heater, 2 fridges and crockery.  The hall has fold away tables and conference style chairs and regularly seats 80-100 people.  There is a ceiling mounted projector with a pull down screen (2.4m x 1.65m) and free Wi-Fi.  (This room is called the Peter Larkin Hall named after a previous incumbent of the church.  Peter Larkin was instrumental in seeing through the development of the new Church Centre, some 30 years ago.)

2. Mary Alexander Lounge (size:  7.4 x 8.5m approx) - lower ground floor

This room is carpeted creating a comfortable lounge with easy chairs. There is a small kitchen area for making drinks (kettle, urn, mugs etc) and 6 large fold away tables for use at meetings.  Extra seating can be added to the room to comfortably seat 30-40 people.  There is a newly installed large screen which is perfect for showing DVDs or presentations from your laptop (HDMI cable provided) and there is free Wi-Fi.  The room is regularly used by Court Quilters, Torbay Tutors, various U3A clubs, meetings and training sessions, and Angels and Mavericks (choir).  (This room is dedicated to Mary Alexander, whose bequest made it possible for the Centre to be built some 30 years ago.) 

3. The Ark  (size:  5.2 x 3.8m approx) - lower ground floor

This is an informal lounge type room with sofas, often used as a base for our youth worker.   A quiet room suitable for small groups, meetings, counselling or prayer.  Comfortably seats 9 people.  Free Wi Fi available.

4.  The Pine Room (size: 14.8 x 7.8m approx) 

This excellent room was built with youth in mind. Currently used during term time and for holiday clubs for the St Matthias Pre School.  It has lino flooring, separate toilet facilities and a small kitchen area consisting of a microwave, kettle and sink.  (There is no crockery supplied in this room.) This room is regularly used by the Rainbows and Brownies and for children’s birthday parties.

Access to the Centre

Access to the building is via a ramp with a slight incline.  Access to the lower ground floor for the Lounge and Ark is via a staircase.  Toilets are located on both the ground floor and lower ground floor.  Access to the Pine Room is via the main car park which has a slight incline as you approach the building.   Please ask for further information when booking if required.
